My son’s 1st Birthday

October 10, 2009

7th of Oct , the most auspicious day of my life ,a day which had made me a complete woman. Gave me an honor to be called a MOM and he gave me a reason to live.  My baby brings such joy each and every day with little milestones like smiling, clapping and crawling, all deserving of a celebration. But when he turned one, it’s time to party!

My baby and I lives with my parents from the day I came to know about his existence. They have seen him growing every moment., had so many sleepless nights with him , cried in his pain, smile with his laughs now he has become their life,  Obviously, they want to mark this wonderful occasion with a special celebration to honor their little one. Make this special occasion fun for friends and family. .

The 1st birthday party was a very special time in the life of a child, as well as for my family.  Began planning my son’s first birthday party months ago. First birthday party themes, decorations, dress, foods, gift bags, cake etc . I was taking a lot of pain to make the party a wonderful one. I was waiting anxiously for the big day to arrive.

His first year has probably gone by so quickly, and my baby has reached so many milestones, that it is really hard to believe that not long ago he was a small, helpless newborn. Today he has turned one. Right from the 12‘o clock at night he was getting a continuous call for his birthday wishes, His Mausa ji was the 1st one  to wish him followed by his mama. My father neighbors are very found of my Son, even they called him at night , I guess he had got the call by more than a dozen people, everybody wanted to hear him but he was sleeping so all of them were wishing me on his behalf.. We woke him and celebrated his B’day by getting a cake cut made by Me and his chottu maa ( chotti Mausi).

We started our preparation from very early morning. The foods and decoration were given to a caterer so we did not need to worry on that side. The venue of the party was in our lawn which is more than a 6 acre land, so Caterer was getting a big space to plan for the party.. We wanted to do something different so rather going for a simple non veg party we planned to go for a traditional food of different state . like liiti chouka of Bihar to makki ki roti ,sarso ka sag of Punjab  to dosa of south and many more . we went even for a Chinese to muglai item too. There were N no of items so the cooks started preparing from very early. I just took care that everything in the house is well decorated.

My plan was to start making Rangoli  from 3’o clock in the evening . But God has some others plan in the mind . Around 2 a clock weather started changing and within an half an hour a heavy rain fall started. We have decorated the lawn with clothes( saris, Dupatta ) crape papers, termocol and balloons within a min everything was spoiled . Lot of peoples were working all ran to snatch the things. They all came inside our house and wait for the rain to hold  but the rain has some other plans .rain was not ready to go away so around 6  ‘o clock we all decided to do the program inside the house but it was hard to adjust around 150 people in one house , We were doing a party in open space as  we have never expected a rain in this month. Now its really hard to make a pandal  in such a small time, infect it was impossible. We have hired an entertainer, a professional singers .Now the biggest problem was where to big them a space. . We are living in 3BHK  flat an adjusting 150 people + entertainers + so many stalls were a tough job. Everyone in the family was worried and had a praying God for the help, but my father was very calm.

Rain was not ready to hold, around 7 we got a call from our neighbor he was requesting us to use his flat too, my father agreed to it. Now all the stalls were arranged in his hall. Once the performer has arrived, we let him have a few minutes to set up without being disturbed and then we provided him a space at our place. Guest who all were having a car reached anyhow but those who all were having a two wheeler were unable to come, for some of the guest I have to manage like my sis –in- law.

It was raining like cats n Dogs. People says that they haven’t seen such a rain before .I have got a new Sari for this occasion but I decided to wear a suit as it was not possible for me to carry them in this heavy rain. The whole picture was disturb , twinkle lights were not working, Generator of coffee machine failed but thank god one generator which was to provide a lights were working and thanks to all the guest who cooperated with us and said that its good that its raining, God is showering his blessing on a little boy .

Everybody enjoyed the party but I was little upset with the situation and also I have got one call in the evening which irritated me though I got a control on myself as my son was turning ONE today and I want to enjoy each n every moment.

This day has become a history, While it is highly unlikely that the child will remember his first birthday party, the adults that were invited will remember this special event throughout the rest of their life.

“Adyant had been adjudged the best baby in baby show”.

This was the headline in every local news paper on 10th of this month. It happened so that just a few days back my neighbor , my father’s colleague ( who is very fond  of Adyant ) gave us a information that IMA Bhagalpur is going to held a Baby show just after a two days. 0 to 5 yrs can participate in different categories. only a two days were left but that was  more  than sufficient as no preparation was needed.

9th April, It’s the day of the baby show, and Adyant has to look his best. We have to reach IMA hall sharp at 3.00pm. I made sure that before leaving my baby should have a proper sleep, (In a day time he is having a habit of sleeping in a lap or u have to hold him tightly and sleep along with him, otherwise there is no chance for him to sleep, so that day I kept him two hrs on my lap so that he had a proper sleep

We reached there at time. Registration was going on. We went there and got Adi registered in age group of 0-1yrs in privilege class. There was two categories ( General & privilege) in all the three age group (0-1,1-3,3-5). I do not know on what basis they are differentiating the babies. They just told me that I have to fill the form of privilege class. I thing they were differentiating on class basis.

I had to pick up a slip in which the name of the doctor was written. I went to the counter and waited for my chance. There I was hand over a paper where all the 8 criteria where mentioned through which my son has to go through, Two of them…vaccination, Weight carries 20 marks and others 10 marks each . Adi sees so many new friends that he can’t sit still?even for the judge. Now my son was called. I was bit nervous because my son was a bit heavy than what was mentioned in a record. But there I fond that in this criteria he had got a full marks. I could not see other marks. Adi had to go a through examination. Now we have to wait for the result. There was 142 participate so we have to wait for an hrs. Sitting on my seat I was looking to all the babies around me. All they were looking pretty dressed in their best outfit, enjoying their self. They were not aware what’s going on. But I could easily see the tension on their both parents. Some of babies were crying as there was too much of crowd. Later even Adi got exhaust and now I have to dance to make him cool down. I was not needed to do a lot of exercise as I got sleep very soon.

After waiting for an hrs now there is time for the prize distribution. Before the announcement President of IMA, chief guests were called on the rostrum to share a few words. Then there was an announcement that those who gets the first price have to wait for the best baby. Best baby had to be picked by president,, chief guest and the Judge .  Now it was the announcement for the privilege class of 0 to 1 yrs. The moment Adi name was announced, adi who was sleeping waked up. All the people sitting beside me started laughing. He got the award from a Doctor, 95 yrs old. He kissed him on handed over a certificate and a prize.

Now the time was to choose the best baby among all the babies who have stood first in their categories. The entire 18 finalist  were called on the podium and asked to face the audience. Then the judges came forward to choose the best baby. Adyant had waked up a min before so he was looking were dull. My father’s friend who was with us was so nervous, he was trying his best to make him a laugh, but he failed. Now when the judge came in front of him, he looked at the old man and gave a cute smile. Judge was so attracted with him that he took Adi from me and announced that his is the best baby. Others were asked to leave the podium. The judge called up my father and uncle on the stage and handed over a gift. I do not think that any people had any objection over there. The photographer and the journalist came to us to get the pic and the details about Adyant . so many parents came to meet me. I was feeling so proud in receiving a congrats. There were people who knew us came to my father and asked for the party.

Yes, my baby had a good day. A great day.

Shri Mahakaleshwar Darshan.

March 25, 2009

Recently I made a visit to Ujjain along with my family for the classic darshan of Mahakaal., the third sacred Jyotirlinga . Mahakal is Lord of the earth. We left Khandwa at 11.30 pm by road, The mission was to attend the Bhasm(Ash) Aarti at 4.00 am .we reached Ujjain city in about an hour around 3.00 Am. We went straight to Mahakal Temple – the famous Lord Shiva Temple. We were not aware what all have to be done here. The moment we reached there we found our Scorpio surrounded by almost dozens of agents. Every body was promising to give the best service right from the room booking to darshan of lord Shiva. As it was our first visit so we needed the help, we had only one hour in our hand as the puja was scheduled at 4.00 am. So without wasting a time we move to a hotel.

Actually it was not a hotel. There was family who use to land their house on rent. It had a good relaxing and rejuvenating space. We went over there, took shower and reached the temple at 4:00 am.. Gents were supposed to wear only Dhoti and ladies have to were Sari.We were not aware about it so we were not carrying Dhoti . Agent arranged a dhoti for al the gents in our group. My mom was carrying only one sari and so there was no spear sari for me. The agent promised us that he will manage with the priest over there and will get the order for me to enter in salwar suit. He bought two jars for us. After entering the temple, we filled our jars at temple kund. Lord Shiv only accepts this kund’s holy water.
We were late and reached the temple by 4.00 am. Bunches of devotees were in the queue already .The agent took us from the back door. For that he cost us Rs 200 each as he said he will arrange a special puja and will also provide a front seat in a courtyard.According to the Agent this is the fees fixed by the government and he will give the receipt (But till the end we haven’t got it, so we do not know what the actual fees are. The door was about to close. We were running. My mom was carrying my son so it was hard for her to walk fast. I have to walk along with her. The Guards were shouting to come fast. We were late he allowed grace to work its entry for us.

After crossing a very tight security we entered the sanctum sanctorum and amidst all the chaos the peace was predominantly powerful. When I entered in the main temple in the sanctum I found a board was displaying the no of people who had entered in the temple. My no was 208. Just in front of the temple room I was stopped by the copas I was wearing Kurta and Pajama which was not allowed for morning aarti. My mom was stopped because she was carrying a baby. Babies are not allowed. We looked around for the agents who had assured us that he will manage but we could not find him. Then we decide that anyhow I will be not allowed to enter so it’s better if I hold my son. . One by one they started to enter the deity room. Standing outside I made a promise to myself that without wearing a sari I will never visit to any temple. Anyway he hardly took a min when I found everybody coming out. They were just allowed to offer a flowers and courtyard after we poured the holy water on Him.

Then we move to a court yard and took a seat. Once everybody took there seat. A Queue of general (Unpaid) line was opened. I found hundred of people were rushing to take a seat. But there were only few people who could find a seat others were standing behind and could hardly see the puja. In every corner one can find LCD Monitors displaying the puja. , We had a very classic darshan of Mahakaal. Such an amazing atmosphere the rudra pooja getting underway I simply closed my eyes into oblivion. Constant recitation of tantra-mantra goes on. Hundreds of devotees sat down in the courtyard to watch the abhishek, srngaar (make up), ashes aarti and mangla aarti.
Now it’s the time for Bhasm(Ash) Aarti . A Priest came forward and announced that all lady should close there eyes as lady are not allowed to see the ashes arti.I closed my eyes and I found that I am sleeping. This is the second continuous night that I haven’t slept After a 24 hrs journey we had reached khandwa at 12 in afternoon and the same day at 11.30 pm we have felt for ujjain. In train I could hardly sleep as I and my baby has to share the same berth’s did not took my sleep potion in the car too because the night scene and the road were so beautiful that the Scorpio was running at the speed of 140 km/hr , I did not want to miss the pleasure .
After the incredible ashes aarti, the cop told everyone to make a queue. Now it was time that we could do puja. After performing puja we went to get the view of the temple. It was beautifully made. Then after spending an hrs we came back to our room

“Thank you”

December 22, 2008

Thankfulness may consist merely of words, easy to spell and pronounce sometimes makes you feel so special and honored …..Two month back when my son, Adi was born. My hubby reached to the hospital along with his family. Oh God!!!!!!!!!! What a joy, it seems that everybody was in other world. One can guess how beautiful a day can be. My hubby was busy in experience his new life, a new role. Lying beside on the bed I can read his face .

He was ignoring me as if I do not exist. But a time came when I was left alone with my hubby. Standing at the distance of approx 6ft , holding a little one in his arm , the first word he utter in front of me was THANKS… I felt a very unusual sensation – if it is not indigestion, I think it must be gratitude and Gratitude is the memory of the heart. I turned my head to the different direction, the tears roll from my eyes… The sun was shining in my eyes, and I could barely see. Resentment of the vivid glow, I started to complain. It might have given a wrong impression of mine but I was feeling proud on myself as if I have done something great which other cant do. The word was making me feel so special, a feeling that nurtures the soul. I need to thank God for what he has done for me.This was the best gift my hubby could have given to me. On the birth my my son I have received lot of gift from diamond to cloth but I must admitt that this was the best one, as it has touched my soul.

Every time I remember the word “thanks “, I experience nothing less than heaven on earth.

Why is it so

October 3, 2008

I think more than 4 yrs had passed. There was some problem in my wisdom teeth. The doctor had advice me to get it removed. He prescribed me some medicine and asked me to come back after a couple of days, as I had to go under a small operation. Even today I can remember how I have spent those two days. I can still feel the mental pressure that I was going through. I was so scared, Intimidate in those two days I had died so many times. Every time thinking about the pain that I will go through. I was Shuddered .O god those two days were so hard. I wanted to lock those days in fist. I still remember that no Deity and Allah were left whom I had not requested to hold the time.

But today, from last one month I know that I have to go for the caesarean, it is much much bigger operation than plucking out the wisdom teeth. But today I don’t have any fear. Am so cool and relax. Infect am waiting for the day, counting every day and every moment. Sometime I shake myself to find out am I the same girl. Am  Introspecting.  Is it true that am not afraid…..Everytime the answer I get yes “Am not”

Choosing a name—-A big job.

August 29, 2008

Getting ready to bring a new baby into the world involves a lot of preparatory work . A new baby needs a name to begin his journey into life..As only a month or slightly more than that is left in my D date. I thought of selecting some pet name for my child because if the name is not ready after ,the birth of the child usually the people will start calling with the name like chungu ,mungu, which I really hate. And a week after the birth of the child my body will not allow me to think over that. I expressed my fear with my elder sister and even she agreed to it. And here our search begins……

Before keeping the name lot of things has to be kept in mind like——————

·        The name should not be generic.

·        It should be small and lovely

·        Had the meaning which reflects the personality of the person.

·        It should shoots to both the kid and the adult so that when he grows up he/she does not feel awkward (Like a 30 yrs adult having the name babu.).

As we don’t know the sex of the child so the job was tough. We have to look to both the gender name. We sat on the net to select the name but internet is so immense that choosing baby names was a difficult task with so many baby names to choose from, we have also consulted the list baby’s name, the book gifted by my gynecologist. I wanted to go for some historical name, wanted to get the name from nature or from the epic whereas my sister wanted to go for the name which is very short and doesn’t have any heavy meaning. I wanted to  go for the name starting with alphabet ‘A ‘as my name  starts with ‘A’ whereas she wanted to go for the alphabet ‘Z’ as the name starts with this alphabet is rare and unique. So sometimes the discussion becomes so hot that it seems that we are fighting, at one point of time I became so rigid for the particular name but she was not ready for it so finally we decided to consult the third person. I asked one of my very close friends; even he disagrees with that so I have to put my hand up. But we both have agreed on one point that the name should reflects the personality of the person it should not be like a blind having the name Nayanshukh…..If we have to keep the name for any outsider then it would have not been so hard but here the baby is ours so we wanted the best and as a result we were unable to come to any conclusion.

Finally after a heavy and hot discussion for the whole day we both agreed on one name and now we have to send it for the assent from my mother, who was watching us right from the morning but could not make it out what’s going on between us. And from there we got the big disapproval as she strictly asked us not to keep the name before the birth of the child .Because there is a superstitions that one should not do any preparation before the birth of the child (because of the irrational fear), so after doing a lot of brain storming for the whole day the result is Zero. Now we have to wait for the D date and again the same story will repeat.

Frankly speaking I loved it …Maza aa gaya

The outcome of 27th confidence motion

August 5, 2008

22nd July 2008, No confidence motion was brought against UPA Government. India’s ruling coalition got survived the no-confidence vote in Parliament with a 19-vote lead. Manmohan Singh government won the vote of confidence but this political turmoil has given two main results.

1.     Re launch of Manmohan Singh

2.     Rise of Mayawati as a national leader

1.     Dr Manmohan Singh has come out with more self confidence. Inspite of the opposition of left parties, he went ahead with the nuclear agreement. He had to face a non confidence motion but he came out with flying colors. The no-confidence vote was the culmination of vicious and pointed attacks by the Left parties Left parties had tried to bring the bad image to Manmohan Singh. When he was addressing the parliament, one can make out how much he was moved by the allegation against him. He had never used that language ever before what he did for L.K Advani and Prakash karat in the end of the session. With this he will be benefited that he won’t be taken as granted any more , he will have a strong hold, Minister and the bureaucrat will respect him more. But now the question rises how he utilizes his new image for the benefit of the country. The nine point mention in his speech is very important for the progress of the country. Now he doesn’t have the pressure of left parties so he can easily use his new avatar.

2.     Though continuous telecast of green noted has left no impact but it has raised a doubt on the UPA Government. It has left a black spot on two biggest national party, congress and BJP and that also when the general election is not very far.

PM Manmohan Singh pulled off a decisive win in the Lok Sabha  but Mayawati who has  vote against the confidence vote moved by the congress led UPA government, emerged as a national leader.

Though the Manmohan Singh has won the victory crown but his grown is made up of thorn. The biggest defeat in this battle was of Mr. Advani and that also by a minority community leader Mayavati. After this she came into the focus. This is the biggest victory of was still treated as a regional leader inspite of his sweep victory over U.P election

Now it is quite clear that the Mayawati has become the leader of all the small parties like UNP , CPM , C.P.I etc and this has started at the time when the leader Like Mr. Prakash Karat himself  when to meet Mayawati in her residence  and then all the regional leader who were sitting opposite to UPA went  in her shelter and propose Bahujan Samaj Party chief Mayawati as its Prime Ministerial face , the most prestigious post of India. If we look at from the angle of Indian politics it was her biggest card.

When the National leader like L. K Advani and Rajnath Singh were helpless Mayawati was alone fighting against the UPA Government. She had been successful in taking the revenge from the central government, who has charged a C.B.I case against her with the help of Samajhwadi part.

Today the biggest property that Mayawati had that she had played a central role in tumbling down the UPA government and she has gain the faith of all the small opposition parties. Few weeks before we would have not thought of it. Now it will have a negative impact on C.B.I for suppressing a minority leader. Now the elaction are not far so any move from C.B.I will be taken as a negative sense for UPA government.

One thing is quite clear that the futures of Indian politics are in the hand of Mayawati. She already had a good relation with the BJP and now she had made a new relation with the small parties like CPM, CPI and many regional parties. It is also clear that the congress and samajhwadi party will fight together in the UP with new strategy.

With all this events the minority all over the country will keep an eye on the dispute between UPA and Mayawati through TV channels. She has also become an ideal for the minority youth all over the country and we should not forget that there are many state were the congress depends on the vote of minorities and if Mayavati moves to the other state it will create a big problem for the congress

So at last according to me

“Har Kar Bhi Jeet  Gayi  Mayawati”
